01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
There is a particular pleasure in grilling well-seasoned meat over a gas tabletop grill, then tucking in as the fragrant steam rises. Close to Kanda Station, Tsukasaen draws both hungry office workers at lunchtime and groups settling in for an evening around the grill.
A filling midday meal
The skirt-steak set and large skirt-steak set are among the lunch favourites. Thick slices of skirt steak are piled high; savoury with every bite, they make an excellent match for a bowl of white rice. Other choices include a Japanese Black Wagyu shoulder-loin set, a mixed set with shoulder loin and short rib, and dishes such as short-rib soup with rice or a Japanese Black Wagyu beef bowl, limited to 5 servings. There are plenty of ways to make lunch feel like a treat.
Platter choices and a wide range of cuts
At dinner, generous platters include Tsukasa Mori, featuring premium beef fillet, premium black beef tongue with salt and premium skirt steak, and Kanda Mori, which combines ribeye with short rib and skirt steak. À la carte, Japanese Black Wagyu cuts such as thick-cut premium beef tongue, ribeye and oyster blade are available with sauce or salt seasoning. The offal selection includes large intestine, small intestine and premium tripe.
Grill meat over a glass of draft Ichiban Shibori beer or a refreshing Riku Highball—or go for the mega mug—and finish with a piping-hot short-rib soup or beef-tail soup. Tsukasaen is an easygoing place to enjoy good meat without any fuss.
